We developed an opening sting that not only reflects the strong brand of BBC News, but it also doesn't disrupt the video experience.
The 2 second sting takes its visual cue from the existing broadcast visuals; making it suitable for digital platforms.

This also followed the visual language of the opening rings from the broadcast - wiping across the screen with a gentle transparency inbetween.
To reinforce the BBC News brand, we also created an end sting that puts the BBC stamp on it's news output.

All these designs are used across the BBC News World Service touchpoints.
This meant designing with additional branding in mind as well as designing for multiple languages and fonts.
It was hard work - but it has created a strong visual identity for all BBC News videos across the world.
